About my Page Name...

Let me explain...

You may be wondering - or more likely not - why on earth my URL is 'ID-Required'. Perhaps you unruly lot thought I was some sort alcohol connoisseur or club manager and felt bitter disappointment were overwhelmed with excitement when you found I was, in fact, a humble bookworm.

(Side Note: I feel 'worm' is a rather unimaginative animal to be likened to... surely something a little more original might be more befitting of the book-loving community. Then again 'book- gerenuk' doesn't have quite the same ring to it...)

Yes... Gerenuks are real just FYI.

Any-who, it never really occurred to me to wonder why I named my pages this but seeings as it is a rather odd name to pick I thought I'd go into super analytical mode... this could go horribly...

Analytical Mode - ENGAGED

Well firstly, I guess the idea of limited access makes me feel like this is my little corner of the internet which is specific to me and unaffected by those who don't want to know about it. As sad as it may seem (Be strong, I can see a tear of sympathy welling up there!) I kinda like to think of this as a page where I decide what goes on where in so many other places in life we have no control.

The ID part might also reflect the way I feel about who reads my blog and that perhaps an interest in books and similar things allows us to relate more? Then again, this could all be a load of bollocks rubbish and you all happened upon my page when searching for cheap liquor... But I'm always... usually... occasionally the optimist!

And lastly, whilst this is making tenuous link and, quite frankly, I'm clutching at straws now - I guess the contents of this page kind of identify me as a person; what I like, my opinions and interests - again tying in the ID

So, what I'm trying to say is that I can talk the hind legs of a donkey when it comes to utter spew about my psychological position and decisions, all of which makes no real difference to you lot but there you go...

Welcome to my Mind! (Too Much?!)

Decembuary Book Haul!

Book Haul #1

I'm slightly proud yet ashamed to say that it took me three minutes to find the 'hashtag' key on my computer which I feel should not really be considered an accomplishment but never mind...

Today marks the momentous occasion of my very first book haul! This is where I will show you all the glorious books I have received/bought/stolen over however long. In this case, I'd like to show you my Christmas 'reaping's and self indulgences which, I must add are very likely to outshine any subsequent 'hauls'. And so, before I divulge, I beg you appreciate or at least put up with my excitement.

December/January (Or Decembuary) Haul

The list from top to bottom;

Here we see an exquisite sample of modern day camera
 quality...
  • Stormbringers - Phillippa Gregory (Book 2 in the Order of Darkness series)
  • The Maze Runner - James Dashner
  • Divergent - Veronica Roth
  • Darkest Mercy - Melissa Marr (Book 5 in the Wicked Lovely series)
  • Let it Snow - John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle
  • Looking for Alaska - John Green
  • Angelfall - Susan EE (Book 1 in Penryn and the End of Days)
  • Dear Undercover Economist - Tim Harford
That last one may need a little more explaining... Given to me by my 'eccentric' cousin, - knowing I loved maths - Dear Undercover Economist is not so much a fictional story-based book but one linking maths and statistics to real life and even goes as far to... dare I say it... sex and maths... I don't know how that will come to pass but when I get there I'll update. Just so long as it's, y'know, PG... o_O

I am yet to know whether many of these are any good or not but I'm a sucker for a catchy blurb and mystical cover - because obviously anyone with morals knows that aesthetics are the most important things in life...

I may or may not do individual reviews on some of these beauts' (I know you're desperate for more of my witty commentary but please refrain from crying should I decide that I won't) But until then, I guess you'll just have to admire my collection from afar and weep with jealously. I know you want to be told how maths relates sex, you filthy creature.

Just a hat tip *wishes she had a hat to tip right now* to Miss Emily Evans, from whom the concept of the Book Haul stemmed. And so please do visit her blog for a rather more refined and articulate overview of similar things and more books -

I feel like at this juncture I should have a sign-off or something but I guess that's a work in progress so watch this space (this space right here) because soon enough I'll have a side-splittingly funny catchphrase... maybe...

Ah, So this is 'The Internet'

I am a nerd

Before anyone goes ahead and labels me without my consent, I want to put it out there for all to see, (all 2 of you at least if we count the drunkard who's stumbled across this page by accident) And yes, you'd expect a nerd to know all the ins-and-outs of technology, the internet, and computers but I am, rather unfortunately, not quite so lucky as to have been given that talent to compensate for my social-ineptitude. And so, I find this a rather daunting feat attempting this. However, I do find joy in learning, understanding and comprehending things. Or, put without pretension, books and maths. Yes, yes - I can hear your groans and scornful words from here perfectly fine but I do - indeed - love them both despite the  massive preconceptions people have of teenagers these days. So here I am, 15, stressing about exams yet still spending the time I should be revising, doing homework or socialising - pfft! - Creating a book blog... Why, I hear you ask? You probably aren't asking at all? Because I wanted to goddamn it! (Plus maybe my friend had one which looked pretty cool...)

So to summarise (something maybe I should've done at the beginning to save you all that) I'm Elizabeth 'Lizbooth' Crowley and Welcome to my blog - ID Required.

A less than pleasant face to put to the name
