Book Haul #1
I'm slightly proud yet ashamed to say that it took me three minutes to find the 'hashtag' key on my computer which I feel should not really be considered an accomplishment but never mind...December/January (Or Decembuary) Haul
The list from top to bottom;
| Here we see an exquisite sample of modern day camera quality... |
- Stormbringers - Phillippa Gregory (Book 2 in the Order of Darkness series)
- The Maze Runner - James Dashner
- Divergent - Veronica Roth
- Darkest Mercy - Melissa Marr (Book 5 in the Wicked Lovely series)
- Let it Snow - John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle
- Looking for Alaska - John Green
- Angelfall - Susan EE (Book 1 in Penryn and the End of Days)
- Dear Undercover Economist - Tim Harford
That last one may need a little more explaining... Given to me by my 'eccentric' cousin, - knowing I loved maths - Dear Undercover Economist is not so much a fictional story-based book but one linking maths and statistics to real life and even goes as far to... dare I say it... sex and maths... I don't know how that will come to pass but when I get there I'll update. Just so long as it's, y'know, PG... o_O
I am yet to know whether many of these are any good or not but I'm a sucker for a catchy blurb and mystical cover - because obviously anyone with morals knows that aesthetics are the most important things in life...
I may or may not do individual reviews on some of these beauts' (I know you're desperate for more of my witty commentary but please refrain from crying should I decide that I won't) But until then, I guess you'll just have to admire my collection from afar and weep with jealously. I know you want to be told how maths relates sex, you filthy creature.
Just a hat tip *wishes she had a hat to tip right now* to Miss Emily Evans, from whom the concept of the Book Haul stemmed. And so please do visit her blog for a rather more refined and articulate overview of similar things and more books -

I feel like at this juncture I should have a sign-off or something but I guess that's a work in progress so watch this space (this space right here) because soon enough I'll have a side-splittingly funny catchphrase... maybe...
