Day of Exile 2

And This is Where it Goes Downhill

(yes... on Day 2. I sure lasted long)

Tuesday 1st September - Day 2

Today D of E actually started. Remember when I said that the happy feeling wouldn't last long. Well call me a fortune teller because it was true. I'm okay but I wouldn't have given you that answer whilst walking. I'd forgotten how painful carrying packs was. Today was our shortest walk so that's depressing. We saw some beautiful views and skimmed stones which set the day off nicely but, at lunch, I happened to sit right on a red ants' nest and got bitten to shreds. It hurt to hell and I was so tired by that point that I broke down in tears because it was so painful. My ol' chum helped out a lot ridding me of ants and spraying the bites I couldn't reach but I still felt really fragile.

Another member supposedly found this whole affair hilarious. I'm still pissed at him for walking off 1km in front of us with another long-legged member and getting lost while we waited for them on the bridge that my navigator friend has explicitly told us to cross. This added 40 mins onto our journey and put everyone in a thoroughly bad mood after they received a bollocking from the navigator and hence I was pissed at the guys for being pissed etc etc.

This camp is pretty and has a nice river which ol' chum and I paddled and splashed in (we had done similar on the walk) Food was good - I cooked so bag should be lighter tomorrow. The tent ceiling is pretty low this time and I found it hard to sleep in last night so I hope it's better today. It's currently raining which fairs pretty badly for tomorrow. And, to be honest, I already miss my mum. I'll feel better after I've conquered tomorrow's mountain (hopefully)

is a good idea.

Skimming Stones and Skimming Memories :)

Already Tired :'(

SEE THIS BRIDGE?! IT'S IMPORTANT!

With 40 mins to spare we tried occupying ourselves.
